In contrast to the disruption of a fire alarm going off prior to the show, this is an incredibly sleek hour of satire and stand-up, delivered by an absolute pro.

I think we can all agree that there is a lot of shit going on in the world. An overwhelming amount to be honest; in an age where it’s becoming harder and harder to do our part, without feeling like we’re not doing enough. Whether it’s checking food labels meticulously in order to make sure our desire for chocolate isn’t unintentionally assisting deforestation, and killing off Orangutans; or trying to stay in the loop with all things political – it’s all just too much.

Novellie has a naturally suave and confident take in his performance, regardless of the topic. It could be observations on Britain’s obsession with wet food, pornography titles, or the unexpected editorial position within Daesh; wearing a velvet blazer or not, Novellie seems like the kind of comedian who will approach any topic with a level of class.

Pierre’s show demonstrates that he is an intellectual, who is probably more informed than your average individual. However, as an average individual myself, I never once felt lost or unable to keep up with his show. Don’t let this knowledgeable comedian intimidate you, his friendly and humble delivery means that you’re still able to enjoy the punchline, even if you’re not an avid follower of daily affairs.

Catch Pierre Novellie on at the Pleasance Courtyard (Beside), every day at 7:15PM. Book your tickets here: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/pierre-novellie-you-re-expected-to-care
