This 80’s musical sensation created by Jay Bennet is the star the world has been deprived of for too long. Using the well-known television format “An Audience With…” from the late 70’s and early 80’s, we get to spend an intimate hour with the sensational Yasmine Day.

With a few musical numbers, some original and others covers; this show is an immensely funny and brilliant creation of all things cliche in the music industry of 80’s. There is never a dull moment when you’re in the presence of pop powerhouse, Yasmine Day.

Jay Bennet’s unwavering dedication to embodying this persona is fantastic, with her multi-talented abilities serving as proof that this performer will be going places! Whether it’s her recounting ridiculous tales with iconic celebrities, her persistent interaction with audience members mistaking them for another prominent figure in the industry, or the well choreographed musical numbers with her back-up dancers – every element of this show is just utter brilliance.

Even with a few drunk and rowdy audience members in the crowd, who were getting swept up in the nostalgic music, Yasmine overpowered them with her quick-witted yet affable put-downs.

I’m so glad that Yasmine Day is back in the spotlight (although, she may argue she never left) as this character has so much potential to become Britain’s new pop sensation… from the 80’s….
