2016 Edinburgh Fringe

The dates for the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival are 5^th to 29^th August 2016 and comedy is just one of the many different categories that the festival covers.

In 2015 there were 50,459 performances of 3,314 shows in 313 venues, making it the largest ever arts festival in the world, so……… you can bet 2016 will be even more fantastic!

In 1947, when it all started, eight theatre groups turned up uninvited to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival. As they hadn’t been invited, they carried on regardless and set up their shows on the “Fringe of the International Festival” hence the phrase – the Fringe!

Comedy has become synonymous with the fringe and there will be many participants, numbers keep on rising right up until the date. We’ll try and keep you posted as we get more and more information.
