I’m not ashamed to admit that I love nonsensical comedy! In fact, the more absurd, the better. Paul F Taylor is definitely an absurd comic, however on this occasion, I found myself struggling to enjoy the show.

Taylor gave a performance very reminiscent of Harry Hill, and although this might be a pure delight for some, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. The majority of the audience also appeared to share a similar view, as jokes which would’ve perhaps landed in previous performances, just seemed misses the mark with this crowd. Despite this, you do have to commend Taylor’s abilities as a performer; consistently trying to keep an energy up, that just wasn’t there.

If you’re a massive Harry Hill fan and enjoy that approach to surreal humour, then you’ll probably have a more enjoyable experience whilst watching Paul.

Paul’s show is on at The Stand Comedy Club 2 (Stand 2), every day (except the 12th), at 1:20PM. Tickets available here: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/paul-f-taylor-odd-paul
