I don’t think it’s possible to watch Archie perform and not have a great time. His charismatic energy is enough to win over the audience, before they’ve even had a chance to sit down.

Hiding behind an American accent in the beginning, Archie playfully banters with the crowd; daring us to be the brave souls who sit in the front row, and guaranteeing us a better time the closer we are – a promise he more than delivers on!

‘Big Dick Energy’ is, in a weird way, a great title for his show. Those with BDE don’t go around bragging about what they’re packing. They instead leave it as a surprise, and give you the unexpected time of your life. Archie does this – except with comedy.

As with last year’s show ‘Matchstick,’ you’re still at risk of pulling a muscle, as Archie’s humour and shocking comments will leave you in stitches. Archie seems to even surprise himself at times, highlighting how effortlessly funny this comic really is.

Although the American persona definitely works in the beginning, the use of it at the end of the show doesn’t quite have the same comedic punch. Nonetheless, it does round the show off nicely.

Overall, If you’re looking for a comic with great banter and jokes, then Archie is the man for you.

Catch Archie’s show at Just the Tonic at The Mash House (Just the Bottle Room), every day (except the 12th), at 4:50PM. Grab your tickets here: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/archie-maddocks-big-dick-energy
